So Yesterday Someone from Edo state asked me, "Nurse, Are we among Biafra? " I really didn't know how she felt about being part of it or not or what her intentions were so I decided to play safe, and this was my reply; "Uhmmm, I wouldn't really know, but History has it that you guyz are kind of affiliated with the Yoruba kingdom right , and last time I saw the states it captured, I didn't see any Yoruba affiliated state, but I wouldn't really know because the states keep expanding everyday" And then the next thing she said was "We are nt among abeg "Greedy People". And I just ignored her as I do majority of the people who wanna ignite a conversation about this; But here's what I thought to myself;
"Do I think the igbos are being marginalized? " Hell Yes...!!
Do I think they are the greedy Bunch of all the people of Nigeria " Hell No, That's what they made us believe. what is your definition of greed??? Mine is Wanting more and more even when you have excess, at the expense of people who have less. Now do your headcount, who constantly lute money and travel abroad to hoard it even when they have excess? How many are igbos? now you know then Who is greedy? Ok Thank u ..!!
Are Igbos United? "Yes they are, maybe Biafrans are not united and that's probably because they are a combination of different tribes including non igbos and igbos, everybody has what they believe in and that's not a bad thing but igbos are United, for e.g if you ask me where are u from , I'll say "I'm Ibo" ,I don't say IMO or Anambra.... Do they love money so much? Yes, Majority are Bussiness men, They have to be money conscious else they will loose Profit and then Bussiness closes down, So yes the Igbos love Money very much and so do each and every one of you, if you don't love money come and be dashing me your salary every month," Yea " now That's what I thought....
Do I Believe in Biafra? "I really have mixed feelings about this one, it has its Benefits and Effects plus some other things I fear which has nothing to do with war by the way, at least not the ones with guns and bombs...
Do I Support Biafra? "Hell Yes because that's what you do when it comes to Family, You fight for family, It don't matter if they are wrong, it don't matter what You believe or not, You air your views and believe within the family environment but when it comes to the outside world, It's US against the world, wether I believe in it or not, because I can't be against all my siblings, I can't see it all and I don't know it all but more than 80% support it, I dnt care, why? Cos We "Family" . It's called "LOYALTY" I know some people can't fathom this..
But then finally the Lady said "Okonji iweala is being questioned right now, I hope they catch Jonathan too" I just looked at her and shook my head, "Catch Jonathan? " I thought to myself "what did he do that we haven't seen before? Why catch only Him? The one person from the south that Ruled and ruled well but just had a few Lapses, they should catch him, why? What for. My dear you see how we think?? Some people from the other part of the country wouldn't think like this no matter how bad their sibling is, For Christ sake this is our Brother, if we ask for Justice,let it be Justice on all, not one person and to think that ,that one person happens to be our very own family is disheartening, I call him Family because we are all one, you that read Geography what do you call people living in a particular geographical area sharing similar culture?
Ok, we are all Southerners, Looking at the Nigerian Map you get a lot of understanding, you see that some people they call south south ain't even that south south e.g cross river see them right there at the South east, Edo is definitely south west from the map but That's not the point, My point is Lets call a Spade a spade, If it's Justice let it be for all and on all because we are all Guilty at some point, Lets tell the truth and avoid Bias, Lets fight for Family and Together Lets live as One,Lastly I support One Nigeria but under True Capital Federalism and Rotation of Government Power..... But what if, Just what is the Center cannot hold? It hasn't held since 1960.... It's 57yrs and still counting, I really don't know if it will ever hold,But then,it's just a Random thought.
